Hello everybody,
I have a very interesting problem.
We use NetInstall 5.7 in a VMware-Container on a GSX-Server but now we want to create a new VMware-container on a ESX-Server with a new structure in NetInstall. It is better to install everything new, so you have the latest version of Office and co.
Okay, that was not the problem. The real problem is that NetInstall works fine under GSX (it's installed in W2K-server) but if I install it on ESX (based on RedHat) in a W2K3-Server (Standard Edition), the installation succesfully finished. After that you can't start NetInstall. A failure appeared after the NetInstall logo which said that I don't have access for changing the configuration-database and that the configuration can't complete.
What's wrong? I don't understand that cause on a testing system with an other W2K3-server container, also Standard Edition, on a GSX worked.
Is there a problem with the ESX?
Versions of GSX is 3.1 (based on SuSE Linux 9.2) and ESX is 2.5.0 (based on RedHat Enterprise 3)
Thanks for every idea...
